He was soon fully immersed in the world of gangs and drug dealing, building a reputation of invincibility.But that reputation was a mask. He projected an image of a man who feared nothing, but secretly lived in terror of death—not the act itself, but the certainty of a hell he knew he was heading for. "I saw the bravest men I knew," he recalls, "the ones who claimed to fear nothing, weep and beg for mercy when a gun was pointed at their head. I knew my time was coming."That path led to its only logical conclusion: a prison cell.What could have been the end became a new beginning.
